A Quarterly Publication of City of Hope | Volume 18 Number 3 | Summer 2007
Despite the benefits of modern technology, nothing can compare to a face-to-face conversation as a way to show appreciation or share important information. That is why we initiated the Tour of Hope, with events scheduled across the country in major cities where chapters are located.

The Tour of Hope features City of Hope executives and faculty members who share the latest news on our research and clinical advances, progress on our strategic plan and other news of note with auxiliary members. You might already have attended one of these events and, if so, your participation is appreciated.
These visits also provide the opportunity for City of Hope to thank its most dedicated volunteers for their innumerable contributions. Scientific advances, the quality of care we provide and the compassion with which our work is imbued is due in large part to your support. You play an important role in helping us fulfill the institution’s mission, and for that we remain grateful.
I would like to extend special thanks to the Ambassador Leadership Council and Alan Levey, senior vice president of development, who together developed the Tour of Hope program. They, along with the numerous faculty and staff who have participated in the tour, exemplify the spirit of commitment that is at the heart of City of Hope.
As the saying goes, “Travel broadens the mind.” With every Tour of Hope, more volunteers around the nation will gain new insight into City of Hope’s work and how we are creating a brighter future for patients and their loved ones everywhere. I hope to see you at one of these events in the near future. In the meantime, thank you again for all that you do.
Sincerely,
Kathleen Kane
Executive Vice President, Development and External Affairs
